  • 42001 I Stock info
This is the sixth book sent to me. The owner of this book requested the colors of blue-green patina and rust. The pages were in the shape of a house.

All the colors for this and the next page were titan buff, phthalo blue (red shade) and burnt sienna Golden Fluid Acrylics. I also used a bit of Daniel Smith duochrome adobe to add a bit of metallic to the background.

I painted the background titan buff. I masked off the area to fit under the transfer and stamped the stock info image over and over to fill the space. I made the Omni-Gel transfer from a photo from Flickr. The green-blue patina of the angel was the perfect shade. I painted titan buff over the hands and white flowers on the backside of the transfer to make these opaque. I didn't want the stamped image to show through.

I painted a pale version of burnt sienna above the area of the transfer. The embossed paper was painted a darker shade. Because it was just plain boring I dried  brushed the metallic paint on top. It needed more of a border so a very dark mix of the phthalo blue and burnt sienna was added. Then titan buff was dry brushed over the top.

The transfer was glued down first then the embossed paper. I outlined the white flowers with a white gel pen.

The angel picture is free for you to download in the collage gallery.

Stamps Used:

  • 58010 G Solid scroll

I started this page by painted a background of titan buff. I glue down a page from a book making sure not to get glue on the front. The I used masking tape to pull of sections of the page. Washes of matte medium with burnt sienna and a touch phthalo blue were painted over the text. A darker mix with 50/50 burnt sienna and phthalo blue was painted on outer edge to create a border.

I painted the stamp with titan buff and stamped around the edges. The angel images was glued down with matte medium. The images was outlined with a white gel pen.

Stamps Used:

  • 40004 I Hexagonal clock
This is the fifth book sent to me. Although the owner had no specific request, most of the pages were a dull, blue green. The other really interesting part of this book is its' pages. She cut up postal mailing boxes into 5 " x 5" pages. She ripped off some of the cover paper to expose the corrugation. Then painted gesso on the pages to cover the printing and give the paper some "tooth".

The background wash (paint mixed with matte medium) and green shades came from mixing titan buff, cadmium yellow medium, cadmium red and cerulean blue Golden Fluid Acrylics. Adding the touch of red dulled the green nicely.

First I made several Omni-Gel transfers from a photo from Flickr in different sizes and orientations. I stamped the clock on a piece of tan paper. The time on the clock is 8:22, my birthday. The clock image was toned down by several layers of titan buff. The flower shapes were cut out from one of the embossed papers I sell. The shapes were painted black and washed with watery white paint. Everything was glued down with either matte medium or soft gel. I rubbed a green Neocolor I (NOT the watercolor crayons but the oil crayons) on its' side to highlight the corrugation.

 Stamps Used:

  • 16003 G Clock border
I started this page by stamping the clock border on the the gessoed board. Layers of titan buff were used to push the image into the background. If fact the clock image almost completely disappeared. I glued down the Omni-Gel transfer. A light green background was made by tinting titan buff with green. To add back the clock border, it was randomly stamped in green ink.

I tried to add a halo of lace paper around the angel's head but it disappeared when I glued it down. I rubbed black and white paint to highlight the paper. The punched shapes came from a magazine ad with red rose images. Red and green are complementary colors. I glued down the clock charm made from the clock kit on the brass bezel page of my website.

I rubbed a lime green Neocolor I (NOT the watercolor crayons but the oil crayons) on its' side to highlight the corrugation.

The angel picture is free for you to download in the collage gallery.
